This policy explains what information Parisar collects, why, who can see it, where it is stored and how long it is kept. It is written for residents, committee members and gate staff of societies that use Parisar, and for visitors to this website. It follows the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India).
1. Who is responsible
Parisar is operated by IntelAct Private Limited, 102, Shri Sharan 2, Opp. Anand Niketan School, Shilaj, Ahmedabad, Gujarat 380059 ("we", "us").
Your society decides most things about your data. When a housing society or RWA uses Parisar, the society's managing committee decides which members are recorded, which bills are raised and which registers are kept. For that information the society is the data fiduciary and we process it on the society's instructions. For your Parisar account itself, and for enquiries on this website, we are the data fiduciary.
2. What we collect, and why
Your account
- Name, mobile number and email — to identify you and to send the one-time code you sign in with. Sign-in codes are sent by email.
- Your society, building and unit, and your relationship to the unit (owner, co-owner, tenant, family member) — so the app shows the right bills, notices and passes.
- A profile photo, if you add one.
Records your society keeps in Parisar
- Maintenance bills, receipts and your ledger.
- Documents you upload when applying to join a society (for example an ownership or tenancy document) — reviewed by the society's committee to approve your membership.
- Vehicles you register, including the registration document if you attach it.
- Domestic help you register, and their attendance at the gate.
- Complaints, comments and attachments; notices you have read; votes in polls and, where enabled, elections.
- Nominations and share-certificate details, which the society is required by law to keep in its registers.
At the gate
- Visitor passes you create (name, phone, purpose, time window) and, for walk-ins, a photograph taken by the guard and your approval or refusal.
- Delivery, parcel and material passes.
Emergency
- If you press SOS, your current location is sent with the alert so the gate can find you. Location is read only when you press SOS; the app does not track you.
- Blood group and medical notes, if you choose to record them, are shown to the guard during an SOS for your unit.
Device and technical
- A push-notification token, so the app can alert you about visitors, bills and notices.
- Crash and error reports (through Sentry) with names, tokens and credentials removed before they leave the device.
- Server logs with request metadata, kept for operational security.
This website
- If you request a quote: your name, email, mobile number, society name, city and what you asked. We store a hashed form of your network address to limit abuse.
3. What we do not do
- We do not track your location in the background.
- When you pick a contact to create a visitor pass, only the name and number you choose are used; your address book is not uploaded.
- We do not sell resident data or use it for advertising profiles.
- We do not read your bank or card details. UPI payments go from your UPI app to the society's own UPI ID; we record only the amount and the transaction reference you enter. Where a society accepts card or netbanking payments, they are processed by Razorpay.
4. Who can see your information
- Your society's committee and staff, according to the role the society gives them. What a committee member or accountant can see is a setting the society controls.
- Guards at your society's gate see visitor passes for your unit, your unit number and, during an SOS, the medical notes you recorded.
- Other residents see what you choose to post on the community wall and, if the society enables it, the member directory.
- Service providers who help us run Parisar (section 7).
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
5. Where your information is stored
Parisar's application servers are hosted by Render (Singapore region), its database by Supabase (Mumbai region), the committee portal by Vercel, and uploaded files in Cloudflare R2 object storage. Transfers outside India are made under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and its rules.
6. How long we keep it
- Your account: until you delete it (section 9) or the society removes you.
- Financial and statutory records (bills, receipts, ledger entries, registers, meeting records): kept by the society for as long as co-operative law requires. Deleting your account does not delete them; they are anonymised of your login but remain in the society's books.
- Visitor entries and photographs: kept for the retention period your society sets, then permanently deleted by an automated job.
- Website enquiries: until the enquiry is closed, and no longer than needed to respond.
- Logs and crash reports: for a limited operational period.
7. Service providers
We use the following providers to run Parisar. Each receives only what it needs for its purpose.
- Render — application hosting.
- Supabase — database hosting.
- Vercel — hosting for the committee web portal.
- Cloudflare — object storage for uploaded files, DNS and website hosting.
- Razorpay — card and netbanking payment processing, where a society accepts them. Those details are entered on Razorpay's pages, not ours.
- Sentry — crash and error reporting, with personal data scrubbed on the device.
- An email delivery provider — for sign-in codes, receipts and notices.
- Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) and Apple (Push Notification service) — to deliver push notifications.
8. Your rights
- Access and correction: your profile is editable in the app. For records the society keeps, ask your committee; they can correct them in the portal.
- Erasure: delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete account) or as described on the delete your account page.
- Withdraw consent: by deleting your account. Processing done before withdrawal remains lawful.
- Grievance: contact our Grievance Officer (section 11). If you are not satisfied, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
9. Deleting your account
Deleting your account removes your login, name, phone number, email and photo from the account, archives your membership of every unit and signs you out everywhere. Statutory and financial records stay with the society as described in section 6. See how to delete your account.
10. Children
Parisar accounts are for adults. A parent or guardian may record a child as a family member of their unit; that information is entered by the guardian and is limited to what the society needs for its register and the gate.
11. Data breach and contact
If a breach affects your personal data we will inform the Data Protection Board of India and affected people as the law requires.
